When it comes to your product listings on Government e-Marketplace(GeM), perhaps the MOST important thing for sellers to learn is how to take product pictures. The photograph forms the first impression, after all.
Here are a couple of things that you can follow while shooting a product photograph:
#1 Use A High Quality Camera
It doesn’t have to be a DSLR, even a good quality phone camera will do. But please ensure that you’re not taking blurry or low resolution photos. The Government e-Marketplace portal has minimum quality requirements for product photos which are checked by their staff, so I recommend you read them as well.
In most cases, a nice phone camera will do the trick for you.
#2 Use A White Background
A white background looks extremely professional, and allows your product to stand out easily. If you know basic photoshop, it is very easy to remove the existing background and replace it with a white background in any photograph.
#3 Don’t Include Logos Or Company Name Anywhere
This is a requirement from the Government e-Marketplace(GeM) portal. Make sure to remove any logos, name of company, Manufacturer’s details, etc from the product photograph. Again, if you know Photoshop, it’s very easy to simply blur out the details from your photos.
