Unlike other central government ministries and organizations, because GeM (Government e-Marketplace) is completely software based. Each user or the buyer from the government is registered on GeM (Government e-Marketplace).
Sellers must go through a very tough and transparent process to register their goods on because GeM (Government e-Marketplace). Thus, because GeM (Government e-Marketplace) becomes a common marketplace for buyers and sellers. The interests of sellers are completely protected and there is no delay in any process. All steps are time bound and both the buyer and the seller are required to adhere to these strictly.
The complete system is on software which the users as well as sellers are not used to. It will take determined efforts, training and ‘sales’ to make it transparent and user friendly.
