This question is extremely vague. I will cover just one aspect.
In least words, ‘rigidity of users’.
Users are extremely rigid. If they have an item with a particular name, they want exactly the same words and alphabets to appear on GeM (Government e-Marketplace). This is not possible.
With over tens of thousands of users, each cannot insist on exact same words when the item is the same. GeM (Government e-Marketplace) has a set of specifications under which the sellers register. Only one brand name is permitted. Users want the name ‘they’ use to appear. This mostly happens due to the officers and the financial advisors who have become irrelevant, which was the basic aim of GeM (Government e-Marketplace).
The GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and the Government must start questioning the heads of organisations to give reasons for non-procurement along with exact reasons. These should be forwarded to GeM (Government e-Marketplace). The system will soon become smooth.
For e.g. a FIRST AID KIT will remain a first aid kit, the difference between kits will be injuries and the number of persons it caters to. Cause of injuries will decide the content. This will remain the same across entire similar types of organizations. Now how can they procure these kits by different names and desire that these appear exactly by the same name?
